1. Why to you like photography ?
I love photography because it allows me artistically express myself and build relationships with my clients.
2. What is your favorite type of photography ?
My favorite type of photography is portrait work. Portrait work gives me the most creative freedom.
3. Share a funny story about your photography…
My funny story happened while shooting a beautiful outdoor gazebo wedding at a country club. It was the most ideal conditions you could wish for. Blue skies, temperature in the 70’s and even a bald eagle souring above (truth!!). Right during the exchange of vows a golfer lost control of his golf cart and went head first into the lake just 25 yards from the gazebo. Cuss words from the drunk golfer and laughter from the guests quickly changed the mood. The bride and groom were great sports about it and even mentioned that it added a great story to there beautiful day! Priceless!
4. Share a photography trick or tip…
A great tip for any type of photography is explore different angles. If you’ve zeroed in on what you want to photograph, take time to look through you camera’s view finder and explore different angles. Stand tall, squat low, move left or right or even do a full 360 degree walk around your subject to find the most interesting perspective. It’s amazing how a slight angle adjustment can change the entire image. Take your time and go for gold!

I love jR Customization because of the interactive and prompt work they do. jR Customization was more than accommodating to my nit-pick requests! Not to mention the finished product is extremely professional and visually stunning. I highly recommend using them for your website needs.
6. What is your major goal or photography project for 2014 ?
2014 is lining up to be a big year for Rathke Photography. With our business on the rise, we plan to make more connections and build more relationships with people so our passion for this art form can be public.

Also, we are bit old fashioned in the sense that we love talk to or meet with our potential clients face to face. Every session is different from the next, so we feel that open communication proves to produce the best finished results.
